“HGAR is excited to be partnering with the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. on a first-of-its-kind and what we expect will be a groundbreaking program on the future of commercial real estate in the Hudson Valley,” said HGAR Chief Executive Officer Richard Haggerty. “The program will feature a host of industry visionaries and heavyweights that will cover a gamut of issues including technology’s impact on office, retail and industrial space, as well as the adaptive reuse of shopping malls and old and outdated office parks and more.”

He continued, “It promises to be a program that will advance the discussion on how we as real estate practitioners can adapt and prepare for the economic, technological and social changes that will no doubt shape the future of the Hudson Valley.”

HVEDC President and CEO Laurence P. Gottlieb said the purpose of the conference is to “get thought leadership together and have a discussion that offers real insights into people who are on the front lines and who are tackling the challenges of where all of these technological and demographic changes are impacting commercial real estate.”

He added that the HVEDC is constantly asked by businesses in the region what prevailing trends will shape the region’s economic future. “We wanted to take a step back and get the practitioners together both on the investment side and all of the related professions, such as city planning, finance, legal, and certainly the technology sectors, and have them come together and debate and discuss these issues in an open forum,” Gottlieb said.

HGAR is also an event sponsor at the 10th annual New York City Real Estate Expo that will be held on Wednesday, April 18 at the New York Hilton Midtown. The expo is being presented by the NYC Network Group and is scheduled to run from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
