HG Realtor Foundation Makes Donation To White Plains-Based Soup Kitchen
Mary Prenon | December 2019
WHITE PLAINS—The Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation, the charitable arm of the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors, recently presented a check for $2,500 to Lifting Up Westchester (LUW) in White Plains to support its weekday soup kitchen serving 60 to 80 people every day.
“The Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation exemplifies what it means to be a ‘good neighbor’,” said Anahaita Kotval, CEO of Lifting Up Westchester. “The Foundation uses its platform and far reach to connect with Realtors and clients alike to raise funds for local area nonprofits throughout the year. We could not be more grateful to be one of the lucky grant recipients this year.”
In addition to its weekday soup kitchen, Lifting Up Westchester restores hope to Westchester County’s men, women and children in need by providing them with food, shelter and support—and lifting them to greater self-sufficiency with dignity and respect.
Lifting Up Westchester has worked to permanently change the lives of neighbors in crisis by finding them stable, long-term, housing and providing the support they need to rebuild their lives. Each year, LUW serves approximately 3,500 Westchester residents each year through four key program areas: Emergency Food & Shelter, Housing Stabilization, Vocational Training & Employment and Next Generation Educational Opportunities.
Established in 2004 and relaunched in 2013, the HG Realtor Foundation has donated thousands of dollars to charities and non-profits throughout the Hudson Valley. As concerned members of the communities it works in, the Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation participates in qualified community-based charities who serve the housing, hunger, health, happiness and humane needs of citizens everywhere.
