Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty reported that Mark Tierney, an associate broker for the company’s Pine Bush office, has been appointed by the Archdiocese of New York to serve on the Ulster/Sullivan/Orange County regional school board as a trustee for a three-year term.
“I’m honored to be invited to serve on the board for the Archdiocese of New York,” said Tierney. “Our task will be to manage nine schools in Orange, Ulster, and Sullivan counties, and I will use my past experiences from the Valley Central Board of Education, where I served for nine years, and several other boards and apply them towards this new task.”
Tierney’s background in Catholic education includes his attendance at Bishop Dunn Memorial School in Newburgh, from kindergarten to eighth grade. His position on the Ulster/Sullivan/Orange County regional school board for the Archdiocese is his first assignment for the church.
Tierney has been a full-time associate broker for 24 years. He has experience in many areas of the real-estate industry, including single-family and multifamily investment properties, commercial property, raw land, and being involved with approximately 300 home inspections.
