Christopher O'Callaghan Named 2019 Grand Marshal for the Sound Shore St. Patrick's Parade

The Sound Shore St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee reported recently that the 2019 Parade Grand Marshal will be JLL’s Christopher O’Callaghan of Rye.

O’Callaghan, in the company of family and friends, will be formally honored with the presentation of the Official Grand Marshal Sash at the annual Hearts & Shamrocks Dinner Parade on February 9th, to be held at the Davenport Mansion in New Rochelle. O’Callaghan serves as a managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle located in the New York and Stamford, CT offices. He is responsible for Westchester County, NY. He has been one of the most active commercial office brokers in the Tri-State Region for the past 30 years. Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, he served as a Senior Director with Cushman & Wakefield.

O’Callaghan is the former chairman of the Board of the Business Council of Westchester County, which represents more than 1,200-member businesses in Westchester County and New York State. He is also the former chairman of the Westchester Economic Development Business Coalition and is on the Board of Governors of the Westchester Country Club in Rye. He has served on the Boards of NAIOP (The National Association of Industrial and Office Parks), the Food Bank of Westchester (now operating as Feeding Westchester), The American Red Cross and Greenwich Hospital. Additionally, he served as president of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Westchester and is also a member of REFA (The Real Estate Finance Association).

The primary duty of the Grand Marshal is to represent the Sound Shore St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee and Irish Americans in our area, and lead all the parade participants down Mamaroneck Avenue. The Grand Marshal also participates in fundraisers so that the group can continue to give back to the Sound Shore community. O’Callaghan joins an impressive list of previous Sound Shore Parade Grand Marshals that include: Jim Killoran, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Westchester; Jim Hynes, Principal, Hynes Capital Resources; Kevin Plunkett, former Deputy Westchester County Executive; Robert McCooey, Senior VP at NASDAQ; James Sullivan, President, Pearl Restaurant Group; Valerie O’Keeffe, former Town of Mamaroneck Supervisor and WVOX on-air personality Raymond “Doc” Kiernan, former New Rochelle Fire Commissioner.
