In Memoriam: Lester Kravitz
Real Estate In-Depth | December 2018
The Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors regrets to inform its membership of the passing of Realtor and principal of Kravitz Realtors Lester Kravitz.
Kravitz passed away on Sunday, Nov. 25 at the age of 66.
Born and raised in New York City, Kravitz practiced law at a Manhattan law firm for two decades, focusing his career on Westchester real estate.
He founded Pelham-based Kravitz Real Estate and he and his wife later acquired Ann DeSantis Real Estate.
Throughout his 30 years in Westchester, he was active in the community. He served as president of the Pelham Chamber of Commerce, founded News of Pelham, a 401(c)3, and was a member of the Pelham Civics Association. He was a musical virtuoso and played in many bands throughout his life.
Lester and his family recently received approvals to build luxury rental apartments in Downtown Pelham across from the Metro North station, the first to be built in the town in decades. As the project continues ahead, the family will be naming a garden walkway in his honor. He was also in the mist of opening up Ann DeSantis Real Estate to new talent, providing desk space and mentorship to agents.
He is survived by his wife Rosalie, two daughters, Maran and Lisa (her husband Isaac Mamaysky) and twin grandchildren.
