Nearly 650 members of the commercial real estate industry gathered at the March of Dimes Real Estate Award Breakfast to honor Acadia Realty Trust’s Kenneth F. Bernstein, President and CEO, with the coveted Real Estate Award. The event was held on November 13.

Each year, the March of Dimes pays tribute to outstanding individuals and companies whose commercial real estate activities have significantly enhanced the community. More than $500,000 was raised to support the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies, the event’s most successful year since the economic downturn.

Co-founded by Kenneth F. Bernstein in 1998, Acadia Realty Trust is a real estate investment trust specializing in the acquisition, redevelopment and management of open air retail properties. Acadia owns, or has ownership interest in more than 100 properties totaling over $4 billion in value.

Robert P. Weisz, president and CEO of the R.P.W Group, received the distinguished Martin S. Berger Award for Lifetime Achievement for his outstanding contributions and impact on the real estate industry in the community during his lifetime.

Patricia Valenti, principal, Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, was the event’s chair and member of the March of Dimes Board of Directors.
