Westchester to Present Minority/Women-Owned Businesses (MWBEs) Conference on Sept. 25

WHITE PLAINS—The Westchester County Office of Economic Development in partnership with the Town of Yorktown and the Yorktown Small Business Association has announced conXpo North, a conference where Minority/Women-Owned Businesses (MWBEs), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses (SDVOBs) and Disadvantage Business Enterprises (DBEs) can attend informative workshops, connect with county departments, and network with local businesses.

The half-day conference is being held Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Yorktown Community Cultural Center, 1974 Commerce Street, Yorktown Heights. Workshop topics include “Westchester County Contracting Opportunities,” “Resources for Your Business & Accessing Capital,” and the “New York State MWBE Certification Process.”

Kecia Palmer-Cousins, MBA, co-owner of Aero-Ba-Soul, Inc. and G&K Sweet Foods, LLC, both MWBE Certified businesses, will be the keynote speaker. “I commend Westchester County and the Town of Yorktown for presenting this important conference. I have learned first-hand the value of becoming an MWBE in helping to grow my businesses. I look forward to sharing my experiences with other small business owners,” she said.
