WHITE PLAINS—The Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors may have a new neighbor.

The Dannon Co. is considering shifting its headquarters operations from Greenburgh to the Source at White Plains (One Maple Avenue) in White Plains. According to a report in the Journal News the company has approached the City of White Plains regarding a zone change that would accommodate the yogurt maker’s food laboratory.

The newspaper reports that if the move were to be finalized, Dannon would shift about 300 office and research workers from its current headquarters at 100 Underhill Ave. to the One Maple Ave. building that also houses the headquarters of the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors. The newspaper reports that Dannon is considering leasing approximately 80,000 square feet of space at the Downtown White Plains property that was originally built as a home for Fortunoff.

“We’re in the process of exploring the option of moving to downtown White Plains,” Dannon spokesman Michael Neuwirth said. “Nothing has been finalized, and a possible move would be contingent on a number of factors, but it is something we’re considering.”

Other major tenants at the 240,000-square-foot One Maple Ave. building include Whole Foods, the Cheesecake Factor, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Raymour & Flanagan.
