HGAR to Hold 102nd Annual Member Appreciation Day on Oct. 29 in Tarrytown

TARRYTOWN—The Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors will hold its 102nd Annual Member Appreciation Day on Monday, Oct. 29 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tarrytown. More than 1,100 Realtors from Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, and Orange counties, as well as the Bronx and Manhattan are expected to attend the full-day event.
With a theme of “Rock Star Selling,” Members Day will include free classes and workshops, a plated luncheon with guest speaker, the annual meeting, a trade show with 70 exhibitors and a keynote address by Ryan Estis, recognized as “one of the best keynote speakers ever heard” by Meetings & Conventions magazine.
Estis has more than 20 years of experience as a top-performing sales professional and leader, including the former chief strategy officer for the McCann Worldgroup advertising agency. He has been published in Forbes, Inc., Fast Company and Entrepreneur magazines and his clients include AT&T, MasterCard, the Mayo Clinic, Honeywell and Lowes.
Other free events of the day will include a “Realtor Safety,” presented by Tom Grimes, a 20-year veteran detective of the New York City Police Department. Grimes was part of the Organized Crime Investigation Division and the Federal Drug Enforcement Task Force among others. He has received many awards throughout his career in law enforcement.
A “Fair and Ethical Housing” class will deal with real-life scenarios for complying with federal, state and local rules for Fair Housing and Ethics. Gary Goldman, Esq. will present “Mindfulness & Meditation for Real Estate Professionals.” Goldman, of Fentin, Goldman, Turk & Davidoff LLP, is known as the “mind body” lawyer and will demonstrate how meditation can improve your mental capabilities and health. The plated luncheon will feature Mike Oates, CEO of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. His topic will be “Economic Development in the Hudson Valley.”
Members Day will conclude with a Celebration Cocktail party to acknowledge the HGAR Realtor of the year and HGAR Affiliate Member of the Year, along with other awards. “Last year’s event was one of our most successful with more than 1,000 agents attending, and this year we’re expecting even more,” said Richard Haggerty, HGAR CEO.
